Loads of New Images Coming Soon, Just starting on Oz & Dubai

15 December 2009 by Chris

All good things must come to an end, I am now back in England after one the best trips of my life. As you may know I’ve globe trotting around Australia and had a quick stop over in Dubai on the return leg for good measure.

Australia was simply amazing, one of the best countries I’ve ever seen and I feel very lucky to have been there. The people are wonderful, much more relaxed and open than I’m used to back home. It was great living the good life with them for a while. on my trip I went first to Sydney, had a really great time meeting up with my friend Helen, seeing the sights and a few beers thrown in to top it all of. Sydney is a fairly large modern city with loads of bars and restaurants but a little pricey (as all major cities are). A good tip is to stay in Haymarket for a good deal on your hotel and take a day trip out to Manley for a more relaxed atmosphere.

After Sydney I flew up to a place called Byron Bay, which has now become one of my favourite places. It has stunning golden beaches, a relaxed hippie-ish vibe with lots of bars, shops and most importantly of all no high rises. Whilst I was there I met up with my mate Si, who’s been living over there for the best part of a year and is a dive master at the local dive centre. This came in handy as we managed to get a few dives, I went out twice and saw a grey nurse shark (which was fun!), a sting ray and a few other fish. In the evenings relaxed with some beers and in the days wondered around photographing everything in site. I stayed at the Bamboo Cottage guest house (the last genuine beach house in Byron) which I would recomened to anyone, it’s a great little B&B, very comfortable and the manager Ange is very friendly making it a great place to stay.

Before long it was time to head off and with regret I had to leave, I caught the bus up to Brisbane and welcomed back the city life. Brisbane is great place to be, it has all you expect from a major city but is still relaxed and friendly. The city centre is clean and in the evening I got the chance to photograph the city lights against the setting sun. All in all a great place to be and I will have the images up on www.framingtheplanet.com very soon so keep checking back to see them as soon as they’re released.
